The University of Alabama Culverhouse College of Business invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship to begin Fall of 2025.
These are two of three tenure-track positions currently open within the Department of Management. Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching courses in strategy and entrepreneurship at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
We seek colleagues with a strong record of excellence (or promise thereof) in research and teaching. Ideal candidates will help continue the rise of UA’s research and teaching reputation, culture, and impact.
The successful candidate will also be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Strategic Management or Entrepreneurship.
Our new colleagues will join a team of Strategy and Entrepreneurship scholars in our Management Department, including Craig Armstrong, Paul Drnevich, Ron Dulek, Vishal Gupta, William Jackson, Jeffrey Martin, Devin Stein, and Theresa Welbourne.
We are open to a broad range of research foci but are especially interested in those who consider their strength to be strategy and entrepreneurship, with a demonstrated passion for research methods (macro-quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods).
Our Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation (SEI) program offers Doctoral, MBA, undergraduate, and executive education courses and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in management or entrepreneurship or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited Business School (or equivalent);
2) demonstrated potential for conducting high-quality research and publishing in top strategy, management, and entrepreneurship journals (3) demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching in strategic management and entrepreneurship.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have (1) a demonstrated record of publications in leading Strategy, Management, or Entrepreneurship Journals, (2) a history of teaching courses in Strategic Management or Entrepreneurship, and (3) the ability to work with faculty in one or more of our core research areas of Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, and / or International Business.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience, macro methods, and interest in working with doctoral students.
