Position Summary In this role, sucessful candidates wil perform supervisory and managerial work within the Disability Resource Center (DRC), makes independent decisions in alignment with the Professional Code of Ethics from the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the Council for Advancement of Standards (CAS) while adhering to University and DRC policies and applicable State and Federal Laws.
Candidates will implement and enforces plans, policies, procedures, systems, programs, and performance standards. The ADAA will be responsible for managing staff, equipment, and facilities.
The ADAA will participate in strategic planning as part of the management team. You will help determine resource needs and priorities and make recommendations to executive management.
You will help determine training needs and make appropriate arrangements for provision of training. Minimum Qualifications
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years experience providing direct adaptive technology support to disabled students,
- 2 years of supervisory experience, or a relevant Master’s degree and 3+ years providing direct adaptive technology support to disabled students,
- Ability to synthesize complex technical concepts or criteria and develop them into concise instructional and support content ( best practice guidelines, project plans and reports, policy frameworks, timelines / roadmaps, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of digital accessibility law and guidelines, including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act and the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Experience testing the accessibility of digital resources using industry-leading assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, and Dragon Naturally Speaking.
- Experience training people to convert inaccessible standard and / or STEM media to accessible, electronic ( BRF, DOCX, HTML, MP3, MUSX, PDF, PPT, etc.) or tactile formats.
- Demonstrable experience using and / or teaching others how to use a variety of adaptive technologies, including solutions for note taking, organization, reading, writing, and general access.
- Ability to learn, understand, and become proficient in new technologies quickly.
- Strong oral and written communication, organization, meeting facilitation, and independent decision making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge permits the employee to plan steps for and carry out multiphase projects and to modify techniques to solve a wide range of problems.
- Master’s degree in Assistive Technology, Disability Services, Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or related field.
- Six or more years providing direct adaptive technology support to disabled people.
- Four or more years managing multiple employees.
- Experience navigating complex situations in which there are competing demands and differing perspectives in ways that maintain good working relationships.

Work Days / Hours M - F, 8am - 5pm Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band.
PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting annual salary for this position will be between $50,148 68,952 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
