Schedule : Monday - Friday

Hours : Full-time, 40-hours / week

Pay Type : Salaried, Contract

Clearance Req : TS / SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph

FLSA Status : Exempt

Position Summary

RSekure is seeking a senior Systems Engineer - Cloud Engineer in the Chantilly, VA area to work with our customer's technical team.

The ideal Engineer must be an experienced, hands-on AWS developer who is collaborative, a self-starter, and self-driven to produce results in a dynamic business environment.

This position provides development engineering and program support to projects and infrastructure support activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud computing technologies, as well as version control systems to maintain cloud infrastructure.
• Analyzes user needs and develops effective cloud computing solutions.
• Assist in creating systems design patterns and practices, development practices, and system and data interoperability practices.
• Travel not required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

• Proficiency working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud computing technologies (i.e., Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Storage Service (S3), etc.).
• Proven proficiency writing code using at least one high level languages (i.e., Python, Java).
• Demonstrated experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of service-oriented architecture principles and related methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Extensive and demonstrable ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executives and senior managers.
• Familiarity with agile development, coupled with knowledge of governance and project life-cycle methodologies in a Lean Agile environment.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in a related technical position (additional education and qualifications can be substituted for years of experience).

Desired Certifications and Licenses

Relevant technical certifications (CompTIA Sec+, Net+, etc.) are a bonus.

Special Requirements

TS / SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust.

Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

• use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens;

mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing / analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and / or reports in written format.

Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
