Summary :
The Apple Thermal team is seeking a world-class Thermal Engineer to play a key role in the definition and design of Apple products.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that from initial concept to design fruition, all thermal objectives are met or surpassed, and the user experience optimized.
Our Team is responsible for all thermally related aspects of a highly collaborative, cross-functional design effort. To be successful, you will need to have a thorough understanding of heat and fluid flow with the ability to apply this understanding to complex design problems.
Being able to clearly communicate technically complex material is a must, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Key Qualifications :
Deep technical and functional expertise in conduction, convection (natural and forced), and radiation, as well as numeric modeling techniques and concepts is a requirement.
A thorough understanding of and experience with heat sinks, heat pipes, vapor chambers, fans and blowers is also critical.
Beyond that, knowledge related to the following is desirable : CFD and CAD tools Optimization techniques and reduced order modeling approaches Scripting (e.
g. perl, python) and data graphics (e.g. MATLAB, SciPy) Flow and thermal measurement of systems and material properties Manufacturing processes related to thermal interfaces and seals
Description :
You will be tasked with impacting product design decisions by providing reliable analysis and thermal insight. In addition, you will lead the design and implementation of thermal solutions and participate in design reviews and technology investigations.
You will also be responsible for : - Specification and optimization of thermal control parameters - Defining and guiding thermal and flow experiments to characterize materials, components, and systems - Analysis of system test data and preparing summary reports - Communication of status and results to cross-functional teams and management - Occasional travel required
Additional Requirements :
