Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Feed and manage well-being of zebrafish adults, juveniles, and babies
  • Maintain paramecia and brine shrimp cultures
  • Maintain filter systems (particle, biological, UV) and aquaria
  • Communicate with fish facility users on near daily basis regarding moving of fish out of baby farm, cleaning of their fish aquaria, and other information.
  • Measure and record water quality parameters, and maintain R0 and fresh water supply tanks
  • Manage baby farm water flow, screens, with attention to growth and water quality
  • Schedule monthly meetings of fish facility staff and fish facility directors
  • Assist with training of new personnel, including weekend feeding by new facility users
  • Serve as essential personnel to feed fish when university closes

Qualifications

  • High School and 3-5 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.. Associates degree in Aquatics Science preferred.
  • Ability to work in a wet environment.
  • Sunday-Thursday work hours.
  • Previous experience is required in zebrafish husbandry (>

5 years preferred)

Excellent communication skills required to interact with a diverse group of >
