Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to assemble, install, and maintain custom machinery and automation systems for our client in Lake Forest, IL specializing in food production equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Pay : $28-33 / hr (depending on experience)
Responsibilities :
- Assemble and build custom machinery and automation systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Install mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and systems.
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure proper assembly and functionality of machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues during the assembly process.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machine designs and assembly processes.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly, maintenance, and repairs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during assembly and installation activities.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering preferred.
- Proven experience as a Machine Builder or similar role, preferably in the automation or food processing industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
