Job Description Summary :
Samuels Seafood Company is a dynamic and growing wholesale company looking for a full-time Design and Social Media Manager to join our Marketing team.
Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer, this position will play a key role in all aspects of the company’s design efforts and expanding the Samuels Seafood social media presence.
Family-owned and operated since 1929, Samuels continues to take great pride in serving restaurants, retailers, and the general public with premium, globally sourced seafood.
Our South Philadelphia HQ is fast-paced and hands-on, and the right candidate should be energetic, adaptable, positive, and a team-oriented self-starter.
Responsibilities : Graphic Design
Graphic Design
- Collaborate with the Chief Creative Office, Ownership, and members of the Marketing team on a variety of creative design projects, including :
- Print : Monthly newsletters, product sell sheets, retail signage, menus, price tags, retail labels, advertisements, reports, corporate signage, business cards, and other printed sales materialsDigital : Daily, monthly, and product-specific e-newsletters, social media graphics and flyers, digital ads, website updates, and other digital executionsMisc : Merchandise, décor, and other branded supplies as needed
- Adhere to corporate design aesthetics and brand guidelines for the company, retail market(s), and brands that we represent
- Participate in weekly team meetings and sales meetings
- Generate new ideas for ongoing projects, templates, and present design concepts to the team
- Assist teammates in setting up for on and offsite events and decorating the facility for holidays
- Coordinate the daily specials on occasion, including taking photos, updating layout, and creating audio recording for company
- Perform other design-related duties as assigned
Social Media Management
Develop and execute an ongoing and comprehensive social media plan and calendar for both Samuels Seafood nationally as well as Giuseppe’s Market (and any other retail locations) in collaboration with the marketing team based on : product inventory;
specials or sales; holidays; location-specific happenings; sponsorships; and other content
- Generate and post on-brand and professional content for all social media platforms (photos, videos, words)
- Regularly monitor and respond to customer and consumer engagements on social media platforms and business review websites (Yelp, Google, etc)
- Stay current on trending social media topics and user-conversion
- Identify new channels to utilize for the Samuels Seafood brand that align with the company’s marketing direction
- Organize, update, and maintain Media Library of photos, words, and videos as needed
Competencies :
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position :
- Knowledgeable about graphic design best practices, as well as staying up to date with current design trends
- Proficient in : InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Word, PowerPoint, Premiere, Final Cut, Constant Contact, WordPress, HTML
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and operate with a sense of urgency
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects at once
- Excellent communication skills
- 2+ years of experience in social media and digital marketing preferred
- A minimum of 2-3 years of professional graphic design experience or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field preferred but not required
- Experience with photography required
- Experience with video production / editing preferred
- Experience working in the food and beverage industry preferred but not required
- Able to provide examples of professional work for consideration
Work Schedule : Monday through Friday; holidays as needed
