Exciting Direct Hire Opportunity Well-established Third-Party Administrator is looking for a Senior Trust Accounting Manager to join their team in the Dublin CA area.
Job Purpose :
The Senior Trust Accounting Manager will manage a group of talented accounting professionals and set accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits.
This person will manage the monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements for all trust funds.
The Senior Trust Accounting Manager will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development of implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide direction and standardization within the trust accounting department.
Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual financial controls audit.
Develop and document accounting processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Manage and comply with local state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Ensure that accurate and appropriately documented audit files and financial statements are prepared in accordance with all appropriate auditing and review standards and requirements.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
Work with external auditors and plan professionals to ensure correct and timely closings and reporting year end.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manage a team of 7-10 employees.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience which includes supervisory responsibilities.
Sharp analytical skills.
Through knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with accounting software Sage 100.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced proficiency with Excel.
Ability to plan, organize and run multiple engagements simultaneously.
Previous Trust Fund accounting experience.
Annual Salary - $115K - $125K
