Digital Mixed-Signal Design Intern
Job Summary :
A Digital Engineer Intern assists and learns from Senior Engineers in the design, verification, modeling, development, integration and physical implementation of digital and mixed-signal ICs using leading edge technologies with industry standard ASIC tools.
Products to be designed may include power management, signal management and mixed signal functions.
MPS is looking for just graduated students or a final-year student looking for a thesis or Professional Experience sponsorship.
The essential functions will vary depending on the desired Job Position.
MPS products include : switching regulators, sensors, motor control, display drivers, audio amplifiers and power management ICs for fast-growing portable and non-portable markets such as notebooks, cell phones, telecom, digital camera, automobile and network equipment.
Mixed-Signal Design Essential Functions :
- Assist with the creation of Mixed-Signal Verification environments
- Write Mixed-Signal testcases and assertions / checkers.
- Analyze and debug test results, code coverage and functional coverage.
- Assist with Mixed-Signal Test Plan and Modeling Plan generation based on design requirements and product datasheets of digital / mixed-signal IC's.
- Analog-Digital Interface Definition and Documentation.
- Behavioral Modeling of Analog Blocks. Analysis to verify architectural choices and trade-offs
- Analog and Digital Mixed-Signal Validation, Verification, simulations and debugging.
- Documentation
- Close interaction with Senior Digital Design, Digital Verification and Analog Design Engineers
- Automation and scripting.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor / MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Digital Design / VLSI coursework.
- Has the ability to follow instructions / tasks according to design specifications / procedures.
- Basic knowledge of ASIC development process and digital design techniques.
- Good written / verbal communication skills and strong team work / collaboration.
- Knowledge of standard DV languages (SystemVerilog, UVM) and behavioral / RTL coding.
- Executing tasks that hit project milestones.
- Knowledge / Experience with the following is a plus :
- SCAN and Other DFT Techniques.
- Knowledge of power management industry / applications.
- I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PMBUS.
- Scripting and automation languages like TCL, Python and C / C++.
