About the Role :
As a Mental Health Therapist at Pathway Caring for Children, you will work directly with children to address their mental health concerns and support their overall well-being.
You will utilize evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help children develop coping strategies and achieve their therapeutic goals.
This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate client records, and staying current with the latest research and best practices in the field.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions with children to address a range of mental health concerns.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients develop coping strategies and improve their overall well-being.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the healthcare system.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in mental health counseling.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and maintain licensure.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Proficiency in conducting both individual and group therapy sessions.
- Strong research skills to stay updated on trends and best practices in mental health counseling.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as CBT.
- Understanding of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Ability to provide direct support to children experiencing mental health challenges.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation requirements.
- Experience in clinical research is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a compassionate approach to care.
Required License / Certification :
LSW, LPCC, LISW (Required)
