Summary
Clinical Informatics Analyst 1 analyzes and identifies best practices regarding the use of clinical information systems to promote care.
Collaborates with departments and teams in the evaluation, planning, design development, testing, training and implementation of the clinical software systems to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
Works closely with the departments, vendors and co-workers to identify and solve problems and ensure the optimum operation of all related systems.
Responsibilities
Interacts with medical, nursing staff and other clinical staff and ancillary personnel to assure full utilization of clinical reporting modules and / or databases.
Provides support and training to all departments including End Users throughout the organization. This support includes assistance with clinical information systems applications.
Performs primary review of application specifications, system design, development, and implementation of Clinical applications and software.
Assists in the maintenance of systems, related training efforts and on-going support for systems implementation activities.
Works with both vendors and users to investigate and resolve system problems. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize in a stand-alone environment.
Communicates vision and progress of system improvements, changes, updates and advancements across all levels of the organization.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve organizational processes. Able to multi-task under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Coordinates system testing to insure data validity and to identify / resolve related problems. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience
Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience. Revenue cycle applications registration, scheduling, HIM, charge services, case management, Cerner / Oracle Millennium build, programing skills, knowledge of workflow, process mapping, along with testing and validation experience preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and / or coursework from an accredited college / university, professional nursing, medicine, physician assistant program, military or other training in information systems preferred.
Skill
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Credentials
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements - Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking.
Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as : extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment.
