Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF ) is a part of the Client Solutions Group (CSG) within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM).

ACF manages capital raising and strategy for alternatives investments across the full spectrum of alternatives including private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, sustainability, secondaries, GP stakes, and hedge funds / liquid alternatives.

The Co-Investment Team within ACF coordinates the syndication of co-investment opportunities to the division’s key investor base, enabling these clients to invest alongside Goldman Sachs in private investments across all major asset classes.

In addition, the Co-Investment Team plays a significant role in the structuring of the firm’s investments, working with the investment deal teams and investor clients, as well as various functional areas within the firm and across divisions (Global Markets and Banking, PWM, .

The work is deal and investor focused, with access to a wide range of businesses, industries, investment structures and investor types.

The team follows the full life cycle of the deal execution process getting involved with deal structuring, investor targeting, marketing of the investment to external clients, book-building and allocation process, negotiation with investors on terms and economics, and coordination of funding and closing of the investment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Principal Responsibilities

  • Help execute syndication / offering process for co-investments to investor clients across all alternatives investment strategies (private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, sustainable investing) on a deal by deal basis
  • Lead preparation of deal-related marketing materials and analyses
  • Help market investment opportunities to investor clients
  • Work with investment deal teams to respond to deal-related due diligence questions from investor clients
  • Participate in internal syndication strategy approval, order book tracking and allocation process for co-investment syndications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across firm (including investment deal teams, client sales coverage, legal, compliance, tax, fund management, and execution teams) to complete legal documentation and operational set up and closing of co-investments
  • Track co-investment activity by deal, by investor, by investment strategy; prepare analyses / updates on co-investor relationships and activity levels for senior AWM and firm leadership
  • Respond to ongoing investor requests regarding active co-investment positions and assist in preparation of materials for periodic portfolio update meetings with co-investors

Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in investment banking / leverage finance, alternative investments or fund raising, or a finance / accounting-based position Understanding of financial and credit analysis, valuation and primary fundamental research is a plus
  • Genuine interest in private markets
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead various constituencies to a common objective
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, in order to manage production of a high volume of quality work within tight timeframes, often across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Attention to detail proven experience of delivering high levels of accuracy
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
  • Candidate must be a team player and self-motivated, demonstrating a willingness to take on more responsibility over time

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
