Job Description :
We are looking for anexperienced MySQL Database Administrator who will be responsiblefor ensuring the performance availability and security of clustersof MySQL instances.
You will also be responsible for orchestratingupgrades backups and provisioning of database instances. You willwork in tandem with the other teams preparing documentation andspecifications as required.
Responsibilities :
Provision MySQL instances both in clustered andnonclustered configurations.
Ensure performance securityand availability of databases.
Prepare documentation andspecifications.
Handle common database procedures suchas upgrade backup recovery migration etc.
Profile serverresource usage optimize and tweak as necessary.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Skills andQualifications :
Strongproficiency in MySQL database management.
Decentexperience with recent versions of MySQL.
Understandingof MySQLs underlying storage engines such as InnoDB andMyISAM.
Experience with replication configuration inMySQL.
Knowledge of defacto standards and best practicesin MySQL.
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQLstatements.
Knowledge of MySQL features such as itsevent scheduler.
Ability to plan resource requirementsfrom highlevel specifications.
Familiarity with otherSQL / NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL MongoDB etc.
Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to handle pressuresituations.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with cloud services (AWS AzureGCP).
Familiarity with database design documentation andcoding.
Experience with performance tuning andoptimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshootingtools.
Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and theirworkarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases.
