Pay range is $90,000 to $110,000 / year depending on the relevant years of experience.

We offer a competitive package of employee benefits for 30 to 40-hour week positions. You will receive a defined contribution amount of up to $13,787.

80 per year (prorated for part-time employees working less than 40 hours per week) to purchase the benefits of your choice on a cafeteria plan basis.

Any amount of this defined contribution not used towards your benefits will be paid to you as taxable earnings. We offer a retirement plan with a generous employer match starting at 4% after one year of employment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide clinical leadership in areas of comprehensive assessments, case conferences, treatment plans and strategic interventions to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Provide clinical supervision and direct services, as assigned and within scope of practice.
  • Provide clinical supervision, clinical leadership, and training and guidance to staff, interns and volunteers, within scope of practice, consistent with agency standards, practices and policies;

this will include individual and group supervision.

  • Participate in program team meetings and trainings to support ongoing development as a clinical supervisor. Participate in regular meetings with the Clinical Training Manager.
  • Develop and oversee supervision goals for supervisees based on the core competencies of a supervisee’s regulatory board as well as the legal and ethical guidelines for their discipline.

Maintain timely and accurate records of supervision.

  • Provide appropriate consultation and back up to support other staff in responding to client crises.
  • Support clinical staff to develop, review, evaluate and / or sign documentation, as needed, including those requiring LPHA signature.
  • Attend ongoing Clinical Supervisor training including but not limited to : Reflective Supervision, Competency Based Supervision, and the Santa Clara County Supervision Training Program.
  • Provide and receive formal and informal ongoing feedback to supervisees related to their clinical skills and core competencies.
  • Provide supervision services, training, and support staff in their work with clients, both individually and within groups, and associated services to clients’ families and / or representatives to develop and improve skills related to physical and mental health care, and substance abuse treatment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Attend and participate in staff, program, agency and community meetings and training, as required.
  • Meet continuing education requirements to satisfy regulatory, accreditation and Agency requirements and ensure continued professional growth and knowledge of current trends in mental health.
  • Participate in management of team / program discretionary resources available to meet client needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : (E Essential; D Desired)

Master's or Doctorate degree in the mental health profession and at least four years’ experience (two of these years should be post license) working in human services settings;

E) in a mental health setting, or substance abuse setting, or dual diagnosis treatment setting and / or with targeted populations.

D) (Doctorate education and licensing may be substituted, where appropriate.)

  • Current licensure from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or an Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC- must be qualified to supervise AMFTs), OR current licensure from the California Board of Psychology (BOP) as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY).
  • Familiarity with best practices and core competencies in Clinical Supervision, and multiple supervision models.
  • Experience managing the supervisor / supervisee relationship, transference, and counter-transference issues.
  • Current with BBS required supervision coursework to be able to supervise waivered LPHAs and BBS registered interns and trainees on hours towards licensure (E).
  • Knowledge of the legal and ethical guidelines for clinical practice for each discipline and licensing board (D).
  • Proven typing speed of 30 net wpm (E); 40 net wpm (D); computer literacy; ability to use MS Office applications Word; Excel;

Outlook and Windows-based databases at a basic level; (E) familiarity with UNIX-based databases. (D)

  • Demonstrated ability to :

  • Organize and manage a supervisory caseload; manage multiple tasks and demands on a timely basis; (E)
  • Engage and communicate effectively with others in both verbal and written English; legible handwriting; (E)
  • Provide supervision to support staff to conceptualize and prioritize the problems of mentally disordered individuals, determining their needs, services, and appropriate treatment methods; (E)
  • Provide supervision to assist staff to monitor and support developmental growth and the recovery process; (E)
  • Provide supervision to support staff to effectively conduct and facilitate group rehabilitation or group therapy services; (E)
  • Provide supervision to support staff to maintain timely, accurate and complete medical charts and client records and prepare reports; (E)
  • Employ tact and diplomacy, exercise good judgment, and act calmly in emergency situations; (E)
  • Supervise from a strengths-based, harm-reduction, social rehabilitation model; (E)
  • Work effectively with persons differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities and disabilities; (E)
  • Support staff to work collaboratively with individuals identified as those with serious mental illness who meet the following criteria : histories of hospitalization, institutionalization, including with the criminal justice system, substance abuse, low engagement in medication treatment, and difficulty in participating in structured activities and living independently; (E)
  • Supervise trainees and interns according to BBS and BOP requirements; (E)
  • Support staff to work with populations identified as high risk and / or considered under-represented in the County Behavioral Health system with multiple barriers; (D)
  • Exhibit exemplary customer service, compassion, and care in the execution of all duties and interactions. (E)
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff that work with participants who :
  • May also have histories of assaultive behavior; (D)
  • May also be developmentally disabled; (D)
  • May have resided in long term care facilities for extended periods; (D)
  • May have patterns of service that relied almost exclusively on emergency and institutional care; (D)
  • May have cognitive difficulties and medical co-morbidities and are considered medically fragile and may also be developmentally disabled; (D)
  • May have long-term patterns of homelessness and criminal justice involvement; (D)
  • Have substance abuse related issues (E).
  • Knowledge of :
  • Clinical techniques for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental illness and substance abuse issues;

problem resolution and conflict resolution techniques; (E)

  • Community resources, including those required to meet the non-mental health needs of the target population; (E)
  • Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). (D)
  • Special Requirements : Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Momentum practices.
  • A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle / for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record. (E)
