What You'll Do :
As an Acute Care Physical Therapist, you will evaluate and treat patients in a hospital setting who are recovering from acute medical conditions, surgeries, or injuries.
Your role involves assessing patients’ physical abilities, developing and implementing personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence.
You will provide hands-on therapy, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed. Additionally, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care, educate patients and their families on rehabilitation strategies, and assist with discharge planning to facilitate a smooth transition from hospital to home.
Resp onsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical conditions, functional abilities, and mobility limitations upon admission to the acute care setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address patients' rehabilitation goals and needs, including exercise regimens, manual therapy, and functional training.
- Provide direct physical therapy interventions to patients, focusing on improving strength, coordination, balance, and range of motion.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal recovery outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, techniques, and strategies to enhance recovery and prevent further complications.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on patient response and changes in their condition.
- Assist with discharge planning by evaluating patients' home environments and providing recommendations for adaptive equipment and home modifications.
Requirements :
- RN license in State of Assignment or compact license
- 2 years of experience as a traveler 3 years with no travel
- Must live 100 miles from Facility
- Covid Vaccine
