E ssential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide application and process engineering expertise to facilitate manufacturing efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Support and coordinate the development and implementation of molding processes and related quality / engineering activities on new and existing product development.
- Provide responsive support to the manufacturing operations.
- Maintain and communicate the general knowledge of material properties and flashless molding techniques across departmental functions.
- Assist in the identification of new processes to support cost reductions, quality improvements, and statistically capable processes.
- Ensure all documentation is properly approved, correct, concise, and clear.
- Perform technical support to manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, corrective action formulation, and root-cause investigation.
- Perform process audits to identify non-conformances and potential issues.
- Assist in the development of new employees with training and coaching opportunities.
- Develop process documents and instructions, for example molding operation on the OMS.
- Learn to interpret rheology data and utilize the results for process development and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate material needed with milling and the lab for processing trials.
- Assist with data entry of production and scrap date into ERP system.
- This list is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Support and perform shift supervisory role as needed. May be asked to serve as back up supervisor during Supervisory PTO.
- Coaching employees on adherence to processes and proper equipment handling (presses, molds, etc.).

Must be able to work 12-hour shifts between 7 am 7 pm and or 7 pm to 7 am rotating days.
Education and / or Experience :
- HS Diploma OR GED.
- Minimum two years of practical experience in flash-less transfer molding and process development.
- Strong work ethic with proven molding experience and the ability to produce quality medical device products.
Language Skills :
Develop detailed molding processes capable of producing quality parts. Ability to explain and train small and large group situations to manufacturing staff and customers / clients, as needed.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, standard units, and metric units as well as dimensional tolerances.
Reasoning Ability :
- Ability to understand data and details into actionable activities and process solutions.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and produce suggestions for corrections and improvements.
- Ability to use graphs, charts, statistical data, and various analytical tools to maximize process efficiencies.
Computer Skills :
Functional knowledge of computer-based systems and ERP systems as needed to perform job function. Must have basic knowledge of or willing to train on Microsoft excel to create OMS instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and listen. The employee will frequently be required to lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee must be able to operate production presses in a manufacturing environment. The employee could come into frequent contact with various types of machine oils, lubricants, cleaning solvents, and general industrial liquids.
