Teal Drones, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is looking to fill an immediate position for a full-time Junior IT Specialist.
Teal is a rapidly growing technology company focused on creating world-class system solutions serving a broad range of applications for design and development of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS drones) for use in defense, public safety, and other government security organizations.

The Junior IT Specialist will assist in the management and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and efficiency.
This role involves providing technical support to local and remote employees, managing user onboarding and offboarding activities, and collaborating with the Senior IT Specialist to implement new technologies, improve existing systems and maintain compliance standards.

Responsibilities
Technical Support :
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist in resolving network and connectivity problems.
- Timely response to IT service desk requests and document resolutions.
System Maintenance :
- Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of IT systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and patches.
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
User Maintenance and Employee Onboarding :
- Handle user maintenance, including creating, modifying, and deactivating user accounts.
- Manage employee onboarding processes, including setting up new user accounts, email, and access permissions.
- Ensure new employees have the necessary hardware and software configured for their roles.
- Conduct initial IT orientation and training for new employees.
Infrastructure Management :
- Support the administration of servers, desktops, and other networked devices.
- Assist in the management of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Help maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Security :
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts.
- Participate in regular security audits and compliance checks.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems and procedures.
- Assist in creating reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Contribute to the development of IT policies and best practices.
Project Support :
- Assist senior IT staff in planning and implementing IT projects.
- Participate in the deployment of new technologies and systems.
- Provide support for hardware and software upgrades.
Training and Development :
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Participate in training programs to improve technical skills and knowledge.
- Assist in training end-users on IT systems and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or 5 years of equivalent experience.
- A working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems from an administrative perspective.
- Familiar with user creation procedures within a medium-sized business. Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or MS Active Directory is a plus.
- Experience configuring and managing wired and wireless networks including VLANs and VPN.
- Knowledge of scripting and automating processes using Powershell or Python.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
Additional Desired Attributes and Skills :
- Any experience in government standards frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, CMMC, etc.
- Email Administration in cloud email systems such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Use of SMB routers and network devices : Ubiquiti, Sonicwall, PFsense, etc.
- Previous use of Salt Stack or similar (Chef, Puppet, Terraform).
- Experience using git.

Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

- Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., server rooms).
- Capability to endure prolonged periods of sitting in office settings while working on computers and other equipment.
