Treaty Oak’s management team has a collective 50+ years’ experience across the critical competencies, including project development, financing, power markets, offtake structuring, design, engineering and real estate.
The Role
Treaty Oak is seeking a Manager, Project Controls who shall be responsible for managing the project management control system for Treaty Oak’s development, preconstruction, and construction projects.
The individual shall prepare, analyze, verify, and report information related to project control areas (e.g., budgeting, planning, scheduling, and cost control) and provide periodic reports to key internal and external stakeholders.
They will oversee schedules for multiple projects concurrently and use such schedule knowledge to to prepare detailed budgets and update, analyze, and advise on spend forecasts.
The ideal candidate has a multi-disciplinary background, understanding of the renewable energy project lifecycle, and experience preparing project-specific budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
The position will report to the Vice President of Construction, working closely to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate closely with development team, construction managers, and FP&A team to prepare accurate, realistic, and timely project control reports including detailed schedule, cost, and budget performance to ensure effective project management
- Maintain project and or other project-related dashboards or trackers with accurate data, consistent formulas, formatting, links, and tracking requirements
- Work alongside development and construction teams to identify and report risks to key milestones based on forecasted vs. actual progress
- Support budget management tasks during development, pre-construction, and construction phases, updating cashflow forecasts based on schedule changes in the project contracts
- Support construction budget to actuals, working with Owner’s Engineers and Contractors’ project management systems.
- Analyze risks and opportunities as part of risk management program
- Prepare and produce reports on project schedule tracking and cost tracking, including variance analyses
- Collaborate with Treaty Oak’s Controller to review and ensure the accuracy of project accounting, cash flow management, and invoice timing
- Assist in the development and implementation of project management processes and tools.
- Provide training and support to project team members on project controls processes and tools.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve project controls processes and tools.
Education and Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, advanced financial formulas, troubleshooting, linking files, graphs, etc.
- Proficiency in MS PowerBI and project management methodologies (e.g., Critical Path Method), tools, and software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar
- At least 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development, scheduling, and budget management
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, construction management, accounting, finance, project management, or similar field
- MBA preferred, but not required
