Workforce Solutions partners directly with teams looking to hire top talent. We are currently working with a thriving business with a newly created General Manager role to join their team at their Portage location.
What's the role?
This new General Manager role will work alongside ownership to manage the daily operations of the company and lead its team members.
The role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, fostering a positive work environment, and driving the company's growth.
The main objectives of the role include :
- Oversee daily operations of the company, including logistics, sales activity, production, and customer service working alongside ownership.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation.
- Resolve any operational issues or challenges that arise.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
What experience and skills do I need to be successful?
There are a few key qualifications for this role :
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar operational leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the tank and transportation industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective operational strategies.
- Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working at a small business is a plus.
What will my schedule look like?
This role will work its core business hours Monday-Friday 8 : 00a-5 : 00p. Generally, no travel is expected.
