Job Title : Journeyman Electrician

Job Location : Mobile, AL

Job Type : Full-Time

Position Overview : We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various electrical systems.

This role is pivotal in enhancing transportation systems by integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining intelligent transportation systems, traffic signals, and roadway lighting systems.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, service, and repair electrical components of transportation systems, ensuring operational excellence.
• Execute installations, including electrical and data conductors, conduits, pull boxes, poles, foundations, grounding, and surge protection systems.
• Provide leadership and training to apprentice electricians, guiding them in complex installations and maintenance tasks.
• Supervise teams as needed, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Promptly respond to maintenance requests and restore equipment to operational status quickly.
• Conduct thorough documentation of all work activities, including reports, logs, and shift communications.
• Collaborate with technical teams to resolve advanced technical issues and conduct field tests.

Qualifications :

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical installations and maintenance.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification / Card.
• IMSA Level II Traffic Signal Technician certification is highly desirable.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and implementing documents such as safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of writing clear reports and effectively presenting information to groups.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with eligibility to obtain a CDL Class A or B.

Additional Requirements :

• Willingness to travel as needed and available for shifts during weekends or overtime.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, maneuver hands, reach, stoop, crouch, lift / move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift / move up to 100 pounds.
• Comfortable working in various conditions including adverse weather, high-traffic areas, and confined spaces.
• Exposure to hazards such as mechanical parts, electrical shocks, and airborne particles, with a focus on maintaining stringent safety protocols.

Schedule :

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
