Job Summary
Assistant Director for Custodial Services : Provides senior leadership for the custodial services division by developing and implementing plans to support the academic and research programs across campus, managing budgeted resources, making a visible presence in the workplace, teambuilding, promoting strong customer service, ensuring organizational accountability, and developing a strong professional image for the division.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and / or experience.
Drivers License required. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree and 7 to 10 years experience in a senior custodial leadership position, with a workforce of 70 or larger.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge of the cleaning industry and best practices. Demonstrated leadership directly related to a workforce of 70 or more employees.
Demonstrated strong communications skills with all levels of the organization including customers. Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to measure organizational performance. Ability to diagnose and solve organizational problems. Ability to build strong and effective teams in the workforce.
Ability to manage and complete multiple assignments and priorities at the same time. Job Duties Job Duty Responsible for developing and promoting a strong customer service and communications orientation in the entire division by developing clear expectations and field verifying with customers.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Develops and manages a training program for new employees and existing staff to insure cleaning procedures and practices are consistent industry best practices and campus wide.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Responsible for insuring safe work practices are employed throughout the division and that the unit has zero compliance related problems.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Responsible for insuring services from the unit are business competitive.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Responsible for developing plans and managing the units budgeted resources annually.
Responsible for taking corrective budget actions when expenditures are not aligned with annual plans. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Provides strong leadership to a management team, supervisory team, and staff, who are all engaged in the business of cleaning university academic, research, and support facilities.
