Summary
This position is located in Shreveport, Louisiana and will assist the Body Shop Manager in daily operations of the Body Shop.
Supervises and communicates with Body Shop, Warranty and R / O staff regarding projected work load and monitors the quality and timeliness of work performed.
Ensures employees receive proper training to promote quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise all processes and staff in the Body Shop Provide daily repair plan and assign tasks to Body Shop staff Ensure all Body Shop staff are appropriately trained and capable of performing their tasks Review all repair orders and damage reports for accuracy before beginning repair Monitor each repair process and facilitate resolution of any problems that arise
- Open Body Shop and Mechanical Repair Orders in IVELES.
- Looks up part numbers and orders parts as needed for repairs in HM system
- Checks Repair Order (RO) status reports and filters units in by age.
- Reorder supplies, etc. as necessary to ensure adequate inventory is maintained.
- Sends email to HQ claims to order survey if needed.
- Checks all ROs prior to closing to make sure parts that have been ordered are received in
- Assist Manager in monitoring the timeliness of work to avoid backlog and interruptions of other operations.
- Supervises and communicates with department personnel regarding work load for the day, week, etc. and direct them in their daily activities.
- Assist Manager in reviewing employee time, total hours worked and produced for each employee and submit to Payroll weekly.
- Closely monitor and track attendance of everyone reporting to you
- Provide training to employees as needed to facilitate adequate performance of job functions and to comply with company policy.
- Ensure repairs are performed according to customer and company policy Ensure Body Shop staff understand and follow all customer and company repair policies Manage workflow of each repair job through the entire repair process Coordinate damage reports, parts ordering, and survey requests Ensure Body Shop staff work efficiently
- Ensure parts, tools, and materials are ordered, stored, and accounted for Manage the part, tool, and material inventories to ensure work can be performed correctly and in a timely manner Ensure all areas of the Body Shop are kept clean and organized to 5-S standards
- Coordinate with relevant personnel to facilitate the repair process Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and GLOVIS personnel to ensure all parties have all of the necessary information regarding each repair job Maintain a Body Shop repair log that documents the details of each repair job
- Assist Manager getting quotes from vendors
- Provides feedback to employees regarding performance
- Prepares disciplinary notices and council employees as needed to comply with company policies and performance expectations and safe work practices
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand American English
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively mentor and supervise a team of 1-12 people
- Demonstrated skill in organizing work activities and people
- Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constant changing priorities
- Very proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma / G.E.D.; Associates Degree preferred
- 3 - 5+ years of experience in body shop
- Prior supervisory, management or leadership experience preferred
- Automotive repair and paint training preferred
- ASE and or PPG or equivalent certification preferred
- Must hold a valid Driver's License
