The Administrative Coach will support educators on-site approximately 1 to 2 days per week.
During this time your primary responsibility will be to support district / school leadership and the Amplify Literacy manager assigned to the district / school with their overall implementation strategy.
You will also partner with district / school leadership to adjust course, as needed, with an eye toward improving student outcomes.
An outcomes-centered orientation and ability to pivot on short notice are necessary for this role.
The Administrative Coach may be asked to support the Amplify PD team on department-wide initiatives on days that Inglewood Unified School District teachers have off when Amplify is open for business (teacher work days, holidays, winter and summer breaks, school cancellations, etc.
At times, the Administrative Coaches may be asked to design and / or deliver PD.
The Administrative Coach’s daily responsibilities will be determined with their manager based on the district’s goals and priorities throughout the year.
Overarchingly, they will be supporting school and district leaders through the implementation process. As such, responsibilities may include :
Providing recommendations to district and school leadership designed to enhance equity of learning for diverse student populations, including students with learning & thinking differences and English Learners
Leading classroom observations and providing feedback to teachers and leaders
Providing office hours for leaders and teachers
Supporting unit or lesson planning with grade-level teams and / or individual teachers
Analyzing student work and formative assessment data to support instructional decision-making and responsiveness to learner outcomes
Cultivating model classrooms (and capturing video examples from these classrooms) as a means of elevating and replicating best practices for planning and instruction
Facilitating district-wide professional development sessions (in person and remote), as needed, for leaders and teachers
Creating or customizing professional development experiences for district and / or school leadership
Proactively seeking out feedback and adapt practice based upon the feedback and what is leading to improved student outcomes
Basic Qualifications :
Experience leading district- and / or school-wide curriculum implementations and professional development for educators in K-5 or 6-8
10+ years of K-5 or 6-8 teaching and leadership experience, leading to demonstrable results for students
Experience working on collaborative projects with leaders and teachers
Experience analyzing data and using it to inform practice
Proven efficacy in time management while managing multiple engagements and competing priorities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology based productivity tools, mainly Google Applications
Able to travel locally (up to 2 days per week) across the greater Inglewood, CA area to support educators
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience teaching or supporting Amplify CKLA and ELA
Ability to support teachers in a remote learning environment, if needed
Knowledge of Amplify CKLA and ELA
Master’s or Advanced Degree in Education
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location : This position requires that the Administrative Coach is permitted to work in the US, have residency in the US and possess a valid US driver’s license.
The specialist should live within 30 miles of the Inglewood Unified School District.
Travel : Local travel is required and considered an essential function of the job. Car mileage and related expenses for professional development delivery are initially paid in advance by the Coach.
Reimbursements for these expenses - including mileage if driving your own car - will be processed 2-3 weeks following submission of the expense reimbursement requests.
Documentation : If selected, a background check will be required.
Equipment : This position requires reliable home internet that can support video calls on Google Meet and Zoom and a quiet, professional place to deliver remote professional development.
Compensation and Benefits : The hourly rate for this role is $75 / hr ($25 / hr for prep / clerical work). Benefits are available through TargetCW Staffing, our agency partner.
The contract terms will be from August 2024-June 2025. Time off will be taken in coordination with the district calendar, as much as possible.
