Position : Special Education Teacher
Location : Portland, Oregon
Duration : Full Time (up to 40hours per week); 2024-2025 School Year
Caseload : Multiple Positions available
1. Middle School, self contained, 15-17 students.
2. Elementary School, split between 2 buildings, more of a general classroom, 20-25 students.

What You'll Do
- Create and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
- Adjust your teaching methods to meet the different needs of your students.
- Use the latest evidence-based practices and tech to make learning engaging and effective.
- Regularly check in on student progress and tweak your teaching strategies to boost success.
- Team up with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists to support student development.
- Keep parents and guardians updated on their childs progress and goals.
What You Need
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (a Masters degree is a plus).
- Valid Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for certification.
- Experience with students who have a range of learning needs and disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of IEPs and how to implement them.
- Great communication and people skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with assistive technology and adaptive tools.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.
- Ability to work well in a team.
