Description

The Clingen Family Center for the Study of Modern Ireland at the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs invites applicants for a one-year multidisciplinary postdoctoral research fellowship to begin January 2024.

Depending on resources and project requirements, the position may be extended for a second year. The successful candidate will undertake research in support of the Legacy Project : Preserving and Engaging the Digital Archive of the Colombian Truth Commission, a collaboration between the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, the Lucy Institute for Data and Society, the Kellogg Institute for International Studies, and the Clingen Center.

The postdoctoral researcher will work with the Legacy project team to research, prepare, and publish a report on the lessons the Colombian Peace Process (and in particular its institutions) holds for Ireland.

The successful candidate must have a completed PhD with a background in Irish policy, law, history, peace and conflict studies, or related field, particularly in relation to Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Troubles'.

A knowledge of Spanish is desirable, but not required.

Under the direction of Prof. Colin Barr, Director of the Clingen Center, the postdoc will be an active member of the Clingen Center and its parent entity, the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies.

They will also participate in the life of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies under the mentorship of Prof.

Josefina Echavarría, Director of the Peace Accords Matrix.

Qualifications

A knowledge of Spanish is desirable, but not required.
