Pharmacy Intern Extern Per Diem Rotating Position Summary
Assist the pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications, mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties.
SPECIAL SKILLS : Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Must have basic computer skills.

THE PHARMACY INTERN EXTERN PER DIEM ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION : High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Completion of formal education program which meets requirements for certification.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Licensed as a Pharmacy Intern by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING : Currently enrolled in the College of Pharmacy.

Reviews and interprets orders for inpatients and outpatients to ensure the appropriateness of dosage and to determine the significance of potential drug-drug interaction.
Prepares and dispenses appropriate amount of inpatients and outpatient medication. Conducts medication rounds and prepare IV additives using aseptic techniques.
Monitor selected patient’s therapy with pharmacokinetic analysis of therapeutic drug levels to ensure effective therapy.
Participate in educational programs and projects designed to improve the clinical and operational components of the department.
Education :
Required : Actively enrolled in an accredited college / school of Pharmacy and demonstrating progress to completing the program.
Experience :
Preferred : Prior experience
Certifications :
Required : Registered Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Intern license (both based on state requirements). AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS required if direct patient care responsibilities.
Physical Demands :
Lift / position up to 50 lbs. Push / pull up to 50 lbs. of force. Frequent standing and walking. Frequent reaching, stooping, and bending.
Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position.
