DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be part of the Construction, Inspection, and Monitoring Section within the Division of Dam Safety.
Your responsibilities will include engineering tasks necessary for the execution of the Dam Safety Program as outlined by Act No.
325, 1978, known as the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act. Your main focus will be on the regulation of dams and reservoirs to safeguard the health, safety, welfare, and property of the public.
Furthermore, you will undertake technical responsibilities related to hydrologic and hydraulic studies, preliminary designs of dams, levees, and other hydraulic structures, as well as conducting economic analyses and cost estimations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- This position requires occasional travel throughout the state on both day and overnight trips.
- Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,678 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title); or
- Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
- One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirements :
This position requires possession of a valid driver s license.
Other Requirements :
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
