In this exciting role as a Trending and Data Analytics Engineering Manager you will have responsibility for directing and managing a technical team, supporting product performance monitoring, signal evaluation, validation and other data analysis needsfor Medtronic Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS), supporting all aspects of the quality system.
The CAS Trending and Data Analytics team is part of the Post-Market Quality Organization, responsible for ensuring CAS products remain safe and effective through the entire product life cycle.
This role will lead a team of engineers, driving sustaining and compliant activities, procedures and tools related to product surveillance and data analysis.
The manager will have responsibilities in planning and prioritizing team activities and deliverables related to the function, while ensuring organizational data needs are met.
In addition, this role will support continuous improvements in data management; driving efficient, high confidence outputs to maintain best-in-class trending and analytics.
The Trending and Data Analytics Engineer Manager will build and develop a team through definition and refinement of roles and responsibilities within a growing function, implementing clear development plans focused on individual growth and business needs.

The Trending and Data Analytics Engineering Manager builds a functional team by focusing on developing trust, encouraging productive conflict, gaining commitment of the team members who are accountable to each other and ultimately achieving results.
This individual ensures the team possesses the appropriate mix and level of skills required to develop and deliver high quality results in a dynamic growth environment.
As part of this, the Trending and Data Analytics Engineering Manager plans staffing requirements and budgets to support current and future business needs.
- Plans and directs Trending and Data Analytics activities to ensure compliant and comprehensive monitoring, escalation and reporting.
- Manage requests for information related to product performance from competent authorities, Medtronic geographies, customers and management.
Support Reliability and Product Performance Engineering teams with data collection and analysis.
- Represent the Trending and Data Analytics team on issue evaluation and investigation boards (e.g. CAPA board)
- Develops and maintains partnerships across functions, building and maintaining efficient interfaces across the organization.
- Partner with the Complaint Handling and Returned Product Analysis teams on complaint code governance and coding accuracy.
Support code development for acquisitions and new products.
- Manage Data Monitoring Plans (DMPs) for current CAS portfolio, and develop DMP for acquisitions or new products.
- Regularly communicate product performance data to the organization (via email, product performance meetings, issue escalations and management reviews).
- Interface across broader Medtronic, maintaining and / or implementing industry best practices and standards for Trending and Data Analytics pertaining to tools, techniques, and company policies.
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Own initiatives to drive data efficiencies utilizing automation tools and continuous improvement of required communications and deliverables.
Must Have : Minimum Requirements (To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume) :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering OR Advanced degree in Engineering or technical field with 3+ years of work experience in Engineering.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency with multiple quality system lifecycle and enabling processes
- Leadership experience, directly or indirectly responsible for managing tasks for other individuals.
- Experience in the Class III medical device industry and its regulations (21 CFR 820, European Medical Device Regulation, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, etc)
- Strong people leadership skills and strong collaboration and cross discipline focus
- Experience / Understanding of product surveillance
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and positively influence strategy and outcomes.
- Demonstrated time management, continuous improvement, problem solving & critical thinking skills
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
