Shift Nurse Manager / Operating Room

Shift : Full Time 6am-4 : 30 pm

Location : Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, 5665 Peachtree Dunwoody Road NE

Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital Main OR has 15 rooms and 1 hybrid room focusing on endo / vascular. Our General Operating Room specialty areas include General Surgery, ENT, Robotics, Ophthalmology (Corneal;

Retina Cell transplants), Complex GYN, Complex Ortho / Spine, Thoracic, and Vascular.

This position is full time, 6a-4 : 30p; alternating days off.

We are seeking a capable Shift Nurse Manager / Operating Room who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

• Serve as unit representative on various practice councils and any necessary committees (IP, Quality, Safety, CAUTI, CLABSI,
• On-boarding of permanent and agency staff members, including development and maintenance of unit orientation binders. Maintains unit competency for all staff members (holds annual skills fair) within TJC guidelines.
• Collaborates and support Nursing Schools of assigned students for unit observation.
• Provides in-services on educational topics as they arise and in conjunction with annual requirements.
• Perform chart audits and 1 : 1 observation as necessary.
• Participate in interviews for prospective new hires.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Two years’ experience as a RN with experience in the area of concentration.
• Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
• BLS required and ACLS may be required in designated departments. Certification preferred.
• If promoted internally or hired externally, the incumbent must complete UCN / SNM criteria requirements within nine months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488, completion of formal preceptor training workshop and enrollment in LEAP course.
