Lecturer A / 2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $5,507 $6,677 per month

Lecturer B / 3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $6,221 $13,224 per month

Lecturer C / 4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $6,825 $14,523 per month

Lecturer D / 5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range : $8,593 $15,211 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Position Summary :

The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Natural Sciences is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2024-25 academic year.

Areas of need include cellular and molecular biology; ecology evolution and organismal biology; and microbiology. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

Minimum Qualifications :

The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or recognized equivalent in Biology or a related field for lower division laboratories, activities, and discussions.

These are courses for which the curricula are already well defined. The individual must demonstrate currency through professional activity appropriate to the instructional assignment.

A Master’s degree or Doctorate or Recognized Equivalent in Biology or a related field is required for all other courses, and the individual must demonstrate currency through professional activity appropriate to the instructional assignment.

Preferred Qualifications :

Bilingual candidates will be given preference.

Responsibilities :

Lecturer positions in the department carry responsibilities in the area of teaching lower and upper level undergraduate courses.

Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

The Department :

The Department of Biological Sciences offers three undergraduate degrees including BA in Biology, BS in Biology with options in Plant Biology, Ecology Evolutionary and Organismal Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and a BS in Microbiology with options in General Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, as well as an MS in Biology.

The department also offers a number of service courses to related majors and general education.
