Role : Medical Administrative Assistant
Direct Report : Clinic Manager
We are a fast growing Pulmonary group in search of a Medical Assistant. The position does require some travel between Dallas / Desoto / Bedford / Grapevine / Irving on a needed basis only, but home location would be Desoto / Dallas.
Job Summary :
Provides professional care for patients following established standards, practices and office policies. Checks patients in, verifies insurance, files, and answers phones.
Works under the direct supervision of the physician and / or office supervisor.
Job duties include but are not limited to :
- Answering multi-line telephones and directing calls to appropriate staff
- Checking e-fax and forwarding to corresponding department
- Insurance verification / Obtain authorizations for office visits
- Scheduling / rescheduling appointments for established patients and hospital follow-ups
- Completing patient consent forms-sending & reviewing
- Communicate with patients via patient portal / email.
- Check patient's in / out
- Collect co-payments and account balances
- Confirm patient appointments
