Reports To : Executive Housekeeper / HousekeepingManager
General Purpose : Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas bymeeting an established standard of cleaning to assure guestsatisfaction and the propertys overallappearance.
SpecificResponsibilities :
- Retrieves items fromshelves and storerooms sets up cleaning carts with supplies fordaily use and constantly organizes carts and storerooms clean andorderly.
- Cleans and wipes windows doors wallsclosets and fixtures in rooms public areas and hallways to maintaina clean and presentable facility.
- Must useladders or stools occasionally to clean hardtoreachareas.
- Wash the shower walls and tub clean thetoilet(s) and stall walls if applicable wipe exposed pipes andclean the mirrors sink(s) and walls.
- Replacetowels soaps and all room amenities. Restock literature removed orsoiled by previous guests to ensure hotel standards for arrivingguests.
- Wash all hard floor areas (linoleumtile etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiledareas.
- Dust and polish all furniture fixturesand wall hangings including using a duster to reach vents andceiling corners.
- Strip the bed of all linen andremake it with fresh linen. Check the bedspread blankets and bedpads for cleanliness and replace them if they are soiled.
Lift themattresses to check for soil between them and under thebed.
- Check the closet for cleanliness wipe thedoor handle and overhead shelves and restock the guest roomsupplies such as hangers extra blankets andpillows.
- Vacuum rooms public areas andhallways operate vacuums weighing up to 25 lbs. andlift / move heavy furniture to vacuum the entire carpet areaincluding underneath furniture and hardtoreachareas.
- Inspects all door and window locks toensure they are in working order and alert management to anunsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests andemployees.
- Inspect all room equipment (TVlights / lamps faucets docking stations and pod) to ensureproper working order. Report any rooms with deficiencies in writingto the Executive Housekeeper for promptrepair / resolution.
- Secures and maintainscustody of equipment keys and supplies at all times to protect andpreserve hotel property.
- Maintains a friendlycheerful and courteous demeanor at alltimes.
- Performs other duties as assignedrequested or deemed necessary bymanagement.
- Cleans patio / balcony areas bysweeping or hosing the floor wiping down all furniture and fixturespicking up garbage and cleaning patio / balcony doors andwindows.
- Assists other employees anddepartments to contribute to the best overall performance of thedepartment andhotel.
Qualifications :
- Able to workflexible hours (nights weekends).
- Responsibledependable punctual.
- Must understand and followverbal / written instructions and communicate verbally andin writing.
- Clean and professionalappearance.
- Must pass a backgroundcheck.
PhysicalQualifications :
- Mustmaneuver a fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50 lbs. throughhallways and into / out of closets during the entire workday.
- The ability to bend down and get on andoff the floor numerous times per day is a key requirement for thisrole.
