Job Summary
Plan and direct custodial work in all residence hall buildings on campus.

- Train, supervise, and evaluate all full-time residence hall custodial staff, part-time student workers, and outside contractors employed to do custodial work.
- Conducts regular inspections of the residence halls to identify custodial needs.
- Prepares written evaluations of the full-time residence hall custodians on an annual basis with input from the Facilities Operations Manager.
- Responsible for the requisition and inventory of custodial equipment and supplies as well as maintenance of the equipment.
- Supervises outside contractors hired by the Facilities Operations Manager for residence hall custodial work.
- Coordinates residence hall custodial staff schedules, particularly during peak times.
- Coordinates the summer residence hall repair and room cleaning schedules with the Facilities Operations Manager, Residence Life Director, and Conference and Events Services Director.
- Reports serious or ongoing maintenance and security problems to the Facilities Operations Manager.
- Performs custodial tasks as needed and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience managing teams of 5+ people, including : setting measurable goals, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
- Ability to establish and maintain a harmonious working relationship with other employees, faculty, and students.
- Three years of experience.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Physical able to perform all tasks and lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass a criminal background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree.
- Previous custodial management experience.
- Experience in an educational institution.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (temperatures varying from below 32 degrees to over 90 degrees) for periods of over one hour, subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, etc.
and involves heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly in order to move objects.
