SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for the production of various columns and related consumables and works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Under general supervision, reads bills of material, discrete jobs and production procedures then performs assembly, packing, equilibration;
testing using various ion chromatography equipment, and embalming of columns and related consumables. This colleague follows written and verbal instructions using common laboratory equipment when performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
o Column Production Lab work
o Column testing
o HPLC Column Packing
o Computer data entry
o Column Box assembly
o Column Labeling and Boxing
o Recordkeeping & Maintains appropriate schedule and records
o May perform or assist in instrument and equipment maintenance and qualification.
o Solvent Disposal
o Solvent Restocking
o Supply ordering / with supervisor / purchasing
o Directed experiments
o Documents detailed and accurate records (computer and notebook)
o Completes all assigned training
o Reads, understands, and follows methods, SOPs, work instructions, safety requirements, regulatory guidelines and company policies.
o Always maintains laboratory cleanliness to minimize the risk to health and contamination of equipment.
o Continues to acquire and develop the vital skills and knowledge to ensure continuing personal growth to meet the needs of the job and the success of the business.

REQUIREMENTS :
o Prior experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred!
o Strong interpersonal skills, able to connect with varying functional leaders both internally and externally
o Digital literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
o Strong historical evidence of a process driven, and data driven approach to problem solving.
o Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements.
o The ability to learn chromatography software and Microsoft Office as needed.
o Proficient in Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices and standards
o Quick and well-coordinated in movement of the hands
o Able to work under pressure and change assignments quickly
o Must be able to communicate information with others verbally and in written forms
o Must have good mathematical, basic problem-solving and organizational skills
o Proficient with assembly equipment / processes used in department
o The ability to learn and apply Lean manufacturing and PPI Continuous Improvement tools
o Must read and understand written procedures (SOP's) and / or verbal instruction
o Must be able to write clearly and concisely
o Work independently with occasional assistance
o Ability to take ownership for general processes / products
o Must be capable of meeting established deadlines and targets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Physical Activities : Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
Level of Physical Requirements : Medium Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Level of Visual Acuity : Inspection, Close Assembly, Clerical, Professional, or Administrative : This is the minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eye.
Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This position interacts with other Stockroom, Production, Engineering and Quality Departments.
EDUCATION :
Accredited high school diploma or GED
WORK HOURS :
Full-Time Monday-Friday, 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM
