The West Virginia University Research Corporation is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant with the Department of Pediatrics / Genetics.

What you'll do :
- Assists functional and executive staff with preparation and provision of services.
- Completes and reviews Genetics referral Workque in a timely fashion along with daily tasks according to the scheduling area working in.
- Schedules patients / customers based on scheduling guidelines and medical appropriateness within the appropriate clinic.
- Obtaining and collecting all necessary information from the patient / customer to schedule the patient for an appointment.
- May assure registration of patients. Collect vital information for purposes of patient identification and billing purposes and enter data into computer.
- Maintain current knowledge of major insurance policies, practices, and requirements regarding all relevant procedures.
- Attends administrative support meetings, responsible to help with department phone coverage and mail when scheduled. Responsible for daily distribution of division mail.
- Coordinates the scheduling of conference calls and meetings. This may include reserving a location / room, ordering and picking up food and refreshments for attendees, communications with participants, conference and meeting materials duplication, etc.
- Sets up and maintains appointment calendars for assigned Genetics professionals; ensures attendance at scheduled activities;
gathers pertinent information for scheduled event; and reschedules appointments or meetings to accommodate unexpected changes in work schedules or priorities.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree; OR an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience. Scheduling experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Good Knowledge of EPIC
- Good phone skills / customer service skills
