Responsible for receiving goods and materials used in plant and office operations, and of verifying the receipt and accuracy of shipments for inventory control and payment purposes
Receiving Support
- Receive from truck and delivery drivers, bills-of-lading and similar documents on incoming shipments and help unload materials.
- Count cartons and verify quantity and type of items received.
- Initiate and complete paperwork for all incoming goods.
- Write receiving packet, check goods against Company purchase order and place receiving packet with goods for inventory and non-inventory items.
- For inventory items, receiving packet goes to Quality Control Department for items requiring inspection.
- By comparing with packing slips with AS400 and working closely with warehouse lead, Logistic Manager and Purchasing Department, resolve discrepancies on over shipments, under shipments, wrong P.O. etc.
- Deliver non-inventory and next day packages.
Quality / Safety
- Manage overall appearance of receiving dock by ensuring inventory is visually easy to see / read, count is accurate and material is safely stored.
- Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.
- Observe sound safety procedures at all times.
- Operate forklift in a safe manner
CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Strong Knowledge of PRMS / AS400
- Working knowledge of Excel
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and follow-through in a timely manner
- Prior Stock Shandling and / or receiving experience preferred
- Forklift certification (stand-up / sit down). Must be able to safely operate a stand-up / sit down forklift.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years clerical experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
- Stand-up and sit down forklift experience preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Warehouse environment, continual reach truck / forklift activity, time sensitive deadlines
- Physical, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching / stooping, bending, and twisting upper body, frequently lift, push / pull up to 50 lbs.
and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
