JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Assistant collaborates with the Director of Maintenance to care for assigned properties, grounds, vehicles, or other assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
- Provide maintenance of all structures on campus, including repairs as needed.
- Assist in maintenance of all properties and making sure they are in a state of good repair, function and appearance.
- Responsible for appearance and routine maintenance of the grounds.
- Responsible for routine and preventative maintenance inspections of buildings, grounds, and vehicles.
- Respond to work orders in a timely fashion.
- Assist in maintenance of agency vehicles.
- Assist with maintenance volunteers.
- Assist with picking up donations.
- Research repair methods and be teachable to learn new skills as deemed appropriate by Director of Maintenance.
- Act as a positive role model and assist with residents in the campus work program, as needed.
- Assist with maintenance duties at other OMC campuses, as assigned.
- Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a maintenance role.

The employee will also regularly be required to talk and hear to provide and receive information or instructions.
This job requires visual acuity to operate machinery and to perform mechanical / skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature.
The position also requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and exert up to 100 pounds of force.
