JOB SUMMARY :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Logistics Analyst to join our team. The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for optimizing our supply chain operations and ensuring efficient transportation and distribution of goods.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics processes and possess excellent problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation routes and reduce shipping costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve materials management and inventory control
- Monitor vendor performance and negotiate favorable contracts
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and ensure on-time delivery
- Conduct data collection and analysis to identify trends and make informed decisions
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Assist in category management by evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices, and managing contracts
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop efficient supply chain processes
Skills
- Proficient in analyzing profit-loss statements related to logistics operations
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and their implementation
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting using tools such as Excel or other software
- Familiarity with materials management principles and practices
- Excellent vendor management skills, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and distribution
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation requirements
- Ability to perform category management activities, such as supplier evaluation and price negotiation
- Experience working with AS400 or similar systems is a plus
