We at The Structures Company have an opportunity for you as a Aerospace Stress Engineer Mechanical Systems remote or onsite in Tustin, CA !

Baseline Requirements (all candidates) :

Minimum 8 years experience onsite in Tustin, CA.

Minimum 10 years experience for remote candidates. .

Strong COMPOSITES experience & knowledge needed.

Strong Mech Systems experience & knowledge.

Preference given to those candidates with HYPERSIZER experience, but HyperSizer not required

Preference given to those candidates with FEMAP experience.

Required Skills :

Key skills : FEMAP, composite structures, hand calc exp, hypersizer, landing gear

FEM Software required : FEMAP experience preferred, will consider Patran.

Open to training FEMAP for candidates willing to work onsite in Tustin, CA.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline

Minimum 8 years or more of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element-based methods

Experience in aircraft or spacecraft composite fabrication, design, and analysis processes

Knowledge of composites manufacturing and sizing of composite structures using FEA models, including pre and post processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures.

Proficiency in FEMAP.

Experience with free-body diagrams and classical stress analysis techniques. Hand calc exp. Hypersisor exp.

Hands-on experience with composites part fabrication and assembly processes a plus.

Pilot, aircraft homebuilding and rapid prototyping experience a strong plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
