The Assistant / Associate Director, Athletics Stewardship and Donor Engagement will report to the Director of Stewardship and Donor Engagement with additional oversight and coordination from the Sr Assoc.

Athletics Director for Development to develop various stewardship strategies and activities, including but not limited to communications, strategic initiatives, donor acknowledgments, athletics giving societies, and impact reporting.

The Assistant / Associate Director will split time between the athletics advancement and central advancement offices as appropriate for meetings and duties related to the position.

This position will also maintain the execution of individualized stewardship plans for athletics donors, which may include experiences and events, for principal and major gifts donors to ensure that athletics donors to Boston College are appropriately stewarded and informed in all aspects of donor relations.

The Assistant / Associate Director will work closely with the Sr. Assoc. Dir., Stewardship & Donor Engagement Reporting to create comprehensive best-in-class centralized, comprehensive impact reports for an annual impact reporting cycle of current-use and endowed funds, including the oversight of assignment and outreach to athletics scholarship recipients assigned to endowed and current-use scholarship funds.

This cycle will include project management, timeline and deadline management, data management, editing, and proofing.

Competitive candidates will possess a demonstrated understanding of core fundraising programs and strategies, including knowledge of the process and practices for receiving major gifts, in general, knowledge of cultivation and stewardship vehicles, including some knowledge of donor fund accounting and scholarship administration, in particular, and possess the ability to build and sustain stewarding information and services to help advance the fundraising work of the organization.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range : $57,800-$72,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of experience for the first-level Assistant Director, three years professional experience for the second-level Assistant Director, and five years professional experience for the associate director.

Event planning, stewardship, or fundraising experience is required, preferably in a college Athletics setting or equivalent experience in other non-profit or for-profit environments where event management and stewardship are critical.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, strategic, and highly engaged in working collaboratively with a team.

The candidate anticipates opportunities and possesses a high level of follow-through on opportunities and projects. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication and technical skills are essential.

Must be a team player who is committed to their own success and that of the team, highly motivated, resourceful and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.

A desire to build a career in advancement is a plus.
