The Public Health Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time, 1-year, Visiting Assistant Professor position.
This position is scheduled to begin in the Fall term of 2024.
The Public Health program at St. Catherine University is distinguished by its unique internship opportunities, diverse student body, and emphasis on women's global health issues.
St. Catherine's public health bachelor's degree program is the first undergraduate program in Minnesota to receive accreditation from The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
Responsibilities :
- Teach the equivalent of six undergraduate courses during the 2024-2025 academic year
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings 3 to 4 times per month
- Engage in professional development opportunities such as faculty / staff workshops and departmental trainings
- Monitor and assess student-learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance
- Support departmental advising of undergraduate students and contribute to departmental service
- Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with people of all cultures and abilities, affirming the worth and preserving the dignity of individuals, families, and communities
- Communicate frequently with the department leaders and / or coordinators for updates or changing course information.

Minimum Qualifications :
- Master's degree or higher in Public Health or closely related field
- Experience teaching college-level students or working as a graduate teaching assistant in public health or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience supervising college students in work, volunteer, practicum, or fieldwork settings
- Experience with online and hybrid instruction of college-level courses
- Earned doctorate or ABD in Public Health or closely related field
- Experience working with colleagues and / or students from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ages, and abilities
