ABOUT THE ROLE WNDR is seeking a full-time, onsite Senior Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting team based in Chicago, IL.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will be crucial in supporting WNDR’s financial reporting and accounting functions.

The scope of responsibilities includes but is not limited to leading the period close process, performing account reconciliations, providing support and mentorship to junior staff.

An ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills, is well-organized, a strong communicator, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead the period-end close process, including preparing journal entries, performing account analysis, and ensuring all deadlines are met Assist the CFO and Controller in monthly accounting and reporting for WNDR’s founder’s family office Contribute to weekly, period, and ad hoc financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting Calculate monthly use and sales tax and file with jurisdictions respective to each museum Support the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card reconciliation processes and provide guidance and for the staff accountant when necessary Identify areas of improvement;
  • participate in initiatives to automate and scale the finance function Perform period-end reconciliations for key accounts and flag discrepancies in a timely manner Provide timely responses and issue resolution to inquiries from stakeholders at all levels, escalating issues as needed Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with our finance and accounting policies Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS : 4+ years experience in accounting;

public accounting experience is a plus Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field CPA designation is a plus Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Strong organization skills Experience with NetSuite and / or Ramp is a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Passion to represent WNDR with professionalism, clear communication, high integrity, and enthusiasm for our purpose and mission Ability and initiative to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the team WNDR Museum warmly welcomes people of all ages, identities, ethnicities, beliefs, religions, and backgrounds to join our team.
