Title : Regional Development Manager
Reports To : Vice President of Sales & Operations
Responsible For : Account Management Pods & Teams
Overview :
The Pod Development Manager is responsible for the development of all Pod Managers and the associated Account Management team members that fall within their functional area.
This includes acting as an interface between Managers and all departments at the Corporate Office. The Pod Development Manager drives the success of their Account Management Pods towards the company's operational goals.
Responsibilities :
Overseeing all Account Management team functions.
Focused on developing and mentoring Pod Managers.
Ensure that performance expectations are being met consistently.
Managing operations to ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded.
Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of their department.
Maintaining responsibility of their associated teams and providing monthly performance updates to executive management.
Developing new business and growing the book of business for their Pods.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Direct involvement with the executive team and strategic planning.
Work in harmony with all corporate executives in providing problem solving and growth planning designed to increase the value of the entire organization.
Sit in with managers for all employee review or disciplinary action meetings.
Hold consistent team meetings and engage their team members consistently.
Provide operational guidance and empower staff to resolve problems consistently.
Job Qualifications :
Experience / Education :
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in logistics or business-related field required.
Experience with and / or ability to learn a variety of TMS / CRM platforms.
Above average proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Office (vlookup, pivot tables, reports).
5+ years of experience in logistics / transportation with focus on business development and P / L management required.
5+ years of experience with progressive professional growth required.
Freight brokerage or account management experience preferred.
Transportation experience in dispatch and / or operations preferred.
Book of business (truck base or customer base) preferred.
Skills / Aptitude :

Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location) :
Generally in an indoor office setting; may include occasional participation in outdoor company events.
Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.
While performing duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat / cold during support of outside activities.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
