Essential Job Duties NC State faculty from the departments of Agricultural & Human Sciences and Teacher Education & Learning Sciences are looking for an NC State Undergraduate Student to serve as a co-producer / co-host for the Extension program #PassTheMicYouth (#PTMY ), a youth-led, youth-centered podcast and blog aimed at amplifying youth voices, shining a spotlight on youth activism, and providing educators with resources to develop critical consciousness.
This is a paid hourly position. The location is remote. We are especially interested in someone with experience in audio editing.
First and second year undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
Hosted and produced by NC State undergraduate students, #PTMY produces content that is grounded in social justice and highlights the contributions of young people.
Archived podcasts and blog articles are available on , accompanied by corresponding discussion questions that educators can use to generate further dialogue.
The website also features resources for fostering self-reflection, personal storytelling skills, and a critical understanding of social justice issues.
In addition, we are in the process of developing curricula that integrate content from the podcast and blog. The potential to review and / or facilitate aspects of curricula exist and can be explored.

- Co-host the podcast series (resources and equipment provided)
- Edit podcast episodes using Adobe Audition / be willing to learn how to edit the podcast Adobe Audit
- Assist with social media marketing and management
- Assist with recruitment of guests to feature on the podcast
- Assist with writing blog posts
- Assist with writing questions for extended dialogue for corresponding blog posts and podcast episodes
- Other duties as they relate to maintaining the podcast up and running

- Experience using Adobe Audition or a willingness to learn.
- Passion for and knowledge of social justice issues
- Audio editing experience is strongly preferred.

- Familiarity with and ability to navigate various social media platforms
- Capacity to leverage social circles and access media outlets to maximize the exposure of the podcast
- Strong writing skills
- Fun and engaging personality
- Experience with podcasts or audio production
