Department of Pediatric Medicine Texas Children’s Hospital Austin

The Department of Pediatric Medicine is recruiting for a Pediatric Dermatologist who is motivated to work in an exciting pediatric setting!

This is an exciting opportunity to help contribute to the clinical and academic Division at Texas Children's Hospital, the #2 ranked children's hospital by U.

S. News and World Report for 2022-23.

Set to open in early 2024, our new state of the art full-service hospital in Austin will increase access to quality healthcare for children and women across central Texas.

Join the Texas Children’s team expanding our standard of care for families across the state. This position is a rare opportunity to participate in the start, growth and expansion of a BRAND-NEW medical facility and campus aimed to serve the growing population of Austin Texas.

Our thoughtful expansion into Austin will help support a pediatric population of more than half a million and keep kids healthy and happy from birth to adulthood.

Job Duties

  • Utilizes advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data, and to manage a caseload of patients.
  • Delegate or provide medications as needed.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Consistently demonstrates effective communication skills and works to eliminate communication barriers.

Provides the full spectrum of health care services to include health promotion, disease prevention, health protection, anticipatory guidance, counseling, and disease management.

  • Consistently serves as an educational resource for the patient and family, community, and other health care professionals.
  • Consistently applies new knowledge relevant to population specific clinical practice.
  • Demonstrates current professional, managerial, and / or technical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in departmental Quality Improvement program annually.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must have completed a residency in dermatology accredited by the ACGME and be board-certified / board-eligible by the American Board of Dermatology and eligible for medical licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Comfortable practicing autonomously.
  • Candidate of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
