In this role, plan and design bridges and other structures for road / highway infrastructure projects. The engineer in this position will analyze and design bridge projects to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness and performs a variety of other engineering duties.

This is an office based role, 5 days per week, and does not provide for hybrid remote working.

Responsibilities :

• Performs bridge engineering design tasks by producing structural calculations and help developing bridge plan sets.
• Independently develops and / or supervises the creation of structural engineering products that meet customer quality requirements.
• Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
• May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
• May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate size project.
• Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer / Drafters and other Engineers working on the same project.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Develop project quantities and help with cost estimates

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field
• 5 years or more of related work experience with bridge design engineering is required
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred
• Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with the bridge engineering is required (Microstation preferred)

Desired Skills :

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis is desired
• GDOT experience is highly desirable, but not required.

Salary Range :
