Under the direction of the hospital chief, the Manager of Midwifery, and the nurse leader, this registered and certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) position provides direct health care to women.
Works in a collaborative team practice that recognizes the patient as the central focus. Provides well women, prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and all-inclusive gynecological care within the scope of his / her practice.
Complements the Ob / Gyn MD in providing care to women with moderately complex issues, both acute and chronic. Serves as a patient educator.
The CNM can independently provide obstetric care to patients who request it.
EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Must be AMCB certified, graduate from an accredited master's degree Nursing or Public Health program and possess current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Must possess and maintain, or be eligible for, Mass DPH Controlled Substance registration and DEA registration. AHA BLS required.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience with strong preference for experience as a Nurse Midwife within an Ob / Gyn setting preferred.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Keeps up to date with current standard of nursing care in Specialty.
Demonstrates excellence in practice, documentation and utilization. Maintains high patient satisfaction. Proficient using EPIC.
