The Infection Preventionist (IP) / Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) as well as facilitating staff development and education.
This individual functions as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator and facilitator for caregivers in the areas of Infection Prevention & Control Activities at the facility level, Outcome & Process Surveillance, including identifying, investigating, analyzing, controlling and reporting infections, and Outbreak Management.
In addition, this position ensures that regulatory requirements for staff education are met and other educational needs identified through various processes are addressed.

Required qualifications :
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. And
- Coursework / Training and Complete the CDC's specialized training in infection prevention and control for long-term care.
- Upon hire : Oregon Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire : National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
- 3 years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required.
- 2 years of nursing experience in long-term care nursing.
Preferred qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous experience in infection prevention and control is preferred.
