Position Summary
The part-time Catering Manager for Events will oversee the planning and execution of catering services for various events, ensuring high-quality food and exceptional customer service.
This role involves working closely with clients to understand their needs, coordinating with kitchen staff and vendors, and managing event logistics to deliver a seamless and memorable dining experience.
This role pays a daily wage of $300 to $325.

Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to discuss their catering needs, including menu preferences, dietary restrictions, and event logistics.
- Provide expert recommendations and customize catering packages to suit the client’s vision and budget.
- Develop detailed catering plans and timelines to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
- Coordinate with chefs, servers, and other staff to ensure smooth execution of the event.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create and update menus based on client requests and seasonal availability.
- Ensure all food meets high standards of quality, presentation, and safety.
- Source and negotiate with external vendors for additional services such as rentals, floral arrangements, and equipment.
- Maintain relationships with existing vendors and seek new ones as needed.
- Oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of catering at events.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the event to ensure client satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage budgets for each event, ensuring that costs are kept within the agreed parameters.
- Handle invoicing and payments, and keep accurate records of financial transactions.
- Ensure that all catering practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food preparation and service areas.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, event planning, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven track record of managing events and coordinating catering services effectively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected challenges.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with catering management software and basic office applications (., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be necessary for site visits and event management.
