Qualifications : Required :
Required :
- Completion of all orientation requirements by Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
- Successful completion of all Orientation programs required by Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
Certifications and Licenses Required :
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Current IBCLC certification
Scheduling Requirements :
- Full-Time
- Day shift
- Some weekends required
- No holidays
Essential Functions :
Provides breastfeeding education and support to parents of infants. Acts as a
consultant to parents on post-partum. Conducts follow up with parents as
needed. Participates in the education of nursing staff as it relates to
breastfeeding. Develops policies and standards of care based upon evidenced
base practice and current research. Reviews and maintains current all
educational materials distributed to parents regarding breastfeeding.
Participates in consortium and community related breastfeeding activities.
Maintains regulatory compliance as appropriate. Maintains logs and prepares
monthly reports as requested.
